Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when using VoilaGift, including account details (such as email and password, managed by our authentication provider) if you create an account, and any messages you send us by email.

When you follow a product link, we record which product you chose and when, the address of the VoilaGift page you followed it from, where on that page the link was shown (such as a gift guide and the product’s position in it, or the chat recommendation it came from), and, if you are signed in, your account. These click records do not include your IP address.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the VoilaGift service; to send you service-related communications; and to comply with legal obligations. We may work with third-party infrastructure providers in connection with these services.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the service, remember your preferences, and analyze usage. You can manage cookie settings through your browser. Disabling certain cookies may affect some features of the service.

We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4, which helps us understand how visitors use VoilaGift so we can improve the product. Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visits and visitors apart. We use Google Consent Mode to control when it may use them, and the default depends on where you are.

If, based on your IP address, you appear to be in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or California, Google Analytics does not use cookies until you choose “Accept” in the consent banner. Everywhere else, Google Analytics uses cookies from the moment the page loads, before you make a choice, and choosing “Reject” in the banner tells it to stop using them. Whenever Google Analytics is not allowed to use cookies, whether before you accept or after you reject, our tags may still send Google limited information about your visit without cookies, such as the page you viewed and when.

The consent banner appears on your first visit wherever you are. We store your choice in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie. If you choose “Accept,” we remember it until you clear VoilaGift’s site data or your browser removes it (some browsers, such as Safari, clear it after a period without visits). If you choose “Reject,” we remember it for 48 hours and then show the banner again; until you answer, the default for your region applies. To change your choice, clear VoilaGift’s site data and the banner will reappear.

You can also block or delete cookies, including Google Analytics cookies, in your browser settings. Choosing “Reject” does not delete Google Analytics cookies already on your device, but your browser settings can. To stop Google Analytics on every website, not only ours, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google Analytics on VoilaGift does not currently respond to Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” browser signals, so please use the banner or the options above. Third-Party Services

VoilaGift uses third-party services for authentication and hosting. When you follow affiliate links on VoilaGift to external retailers (including affiliate partners such as Amazon), those sites have their own privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for their policies. Our use of affiliate links may result in compensation when you make qualifying purchases; this does not change the price you pay.

Data Security and Retention

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the service and as required by law. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children

VoilaGift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and indicate the date of the last update. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
